Sulfur impregnated activated carbon is engineered for the effective removal of mercury vapor from gas streams.
During operation, mercury is initially adsorbed onto the activated carbon surface, where sulfur components react with mercury to form mercury sulfide (HgS)—a stable, insoluble compound securely trapped within the pore structure.
With a well‑designed single‑ or double‑vessel adsorption system, effluent mercury concentrations can be reduced to < 0.01 μg/Nm³, meeting stringent environmental and industrial requirements.
